The only requirements we've come up with is that the alliance must be PC active, one of their corps must beat us in a PC, and they must have at least some plan to get eve support, if they don't have it.

So you are saying if a group of HS and WR can beat you... you would consider joining? We have eve support.
If it's 16 v 16. Only issue I hadn't considered is if you can only get those same 16 that beat us on consistently, and not just once in a blue moon.
But yes. Most definitely.

From what I know, you guys have the talent to be that point, but when you have a collection of too much talent--too many Michael Jordans, so to speak--the alliance will fall apart.
Just like with building any sports team, you have to have talent, but then you also have to have the role players. You have to have the guy that wants the ball with 2 seconds left, but you also need the guy to get him the ball, and you need the guy willing to set the pick to get him open.
This is one of the flaws I've seen since my time in Dust. And I've been here since beta.
My two cents.
I could be wrong, as I am very often, but I would assert the Imps machine, and EoN in general as proof you can amass several corps capable of competing on the same level. It's not the "A" team that wins war, it's the b, c, and d teams that are crucial.
My corp is 40 days old, surely many other corps can recruit better in 6-12+ months than this poor scrub.
1/2 my corp is unknown talent I found watching pubs.
I'm not calling out anyone, I respect every corp that's posted they will fight.
But if I can't trust you with having my back, what do you bring to the table I can't find elsewhere?
Does every corp need to be better than us? No. But does one need to be competitive with us, I sure hope so.
And I'll wake me guys up at 4 am or make them get on at noon if you're corp has odd ass hours where the a-team is on to fight you.

I can tell you we have a few slayers that can hold their own with anyone on dust... they just aren't recognized because they dont come on here and chest beat with everyone else.
Then we shall fight and test our mettle. Do you have skype or should I mail you in game? Do you have a pfc district?

And I'll wake me guys up at 4 am or make them get on at noon if you're corp has odd ass hours where the a-team is on to fight you. Ah, I knew you'd bring those two examples to the table. Good ones, but it all depends on what you're looking for. Where are EoN and the Imps now? Sure, they dominated while in existence, but the flame burnt bright and then extinguished. So, are you looking for that , or are you looking to be part of something that lasts? I can't see the "all-star" alliances lasting because the game becomes boring and no one wants to test you. I, personally, have no stake in this. However, I can't help but share my opinion. Thanks for listening. If nothing else, I've bumped you up to the top. :)
That rebuttal seems silly from where I sit. Imps left the game because it was bad and PC was a disappointment. TeamPlayers and EoN. in general left for other games. "Lasting" in the sense of finding players that will never leave dust to enjoy other games with the majority of their free time seems an unfathomable endeavor.
I don't think the alliance has to be "All Star" but I do hope there's a team that wants to forge respect from us and help us earn there's by fighting and finding a worthy corporation that shares our commitment.
One thing that i'm very cognizant of is the potential for misguidedness. I could be totally wrong. Which is why discussion like this is so important. I'm a firm believer that the best ideas naturally tend to find the light.
Was EoN. better in it's day than Renegade is now with AE being the tip of the spear?
or are all these comparisons perhaps inadequate in ascertaining the value of having another corporation that is truly talented to partner with? I don't pretend to know.

kiarbanor wrote:I'm not starting anything with you, Zatara, just stating an opinion. And simply because my opinion differs from yours does not mean it's silly. My opinion is that EoN and the Imps fell apart because the game became stale and boring.
And the reason the game became stale and boring was because they won. They gathered all the best players and best corps, beat PC, and then left. It's just like any game you play; you win, it is no longer exciting because you won, and then you put it on the shelf.
If Dust was kept competitive, especially PC, people would continue to play, even through the issues. Isn't it interesting the corps of EoN and the Imps were around since early beta, working through all the broken mechanics, but then they both fell apart after winning PC?
Besides fixing obvious issues, competitiveness is the key to making Dust last. If there isn't fair and reasonable competition, everyone loses interest.
Just my silly opinion. Good luck with your search, and bump to the top.
Apologies is me feeling your assessment was silly was taken offensively, it was insensitive and unintended. However, i never said your opinion was silly because it differed from my own. I listed other reasons.
From someone intimate with your observations I can see your point about EoN winning the game. But I'd disagree with Imps, they hardly "won" PC in any sense. They simply abandoned PC after making a chunk of change smacking STB and then lost to TP with the few remaining imps left and were pissed because PC1.0 was a laggy bullshit gamemode they couldn't fathom playing over other games...the rest of us in TP didn't mind and continued playing. AE wasn't any less a threat to TP when we quit for FFIVX, we just didn't care because we'd already won, and the game did in fact get boring. So i'd tend to agree with one of the 1 examples.
Which is your point I missed. You're suggesting that joining an alliance on our level is to accomplish what EoN did.
Which I understand, but you must know I'm the guy that fielded offers and decided to build my own corp.
If I was trying to build a mega alliance I'd blue up with the best corps. Which i'm not. Asking for another team on our young level is not my attempt at building 7 corps of utter awesome. I just don't like not having one other team I trust with our back. That was something I took for granted from EoN. and I continue to believe in the efficaciousness.

I am pleased you are drama free.
Mics are good.
So as aforementioned we want to join an alliance with a team that can beat us and teach us, when and where would it be convenient for us to skirmish our forces?
